Job description

What we do? At Drumlanrig Castle, visitors are spoiled for choice. They can admire our magnificent Pink Palace, marvel at the stunning Victorian Gardens, take a guided tour, enjoy the woodland adventure playground, delight in the outdoors on our walks and bike trails, and treat themselves to tasty refreshments in our tearoom or Larchwood Cabin Café.

The role? Hosting Castle tours, you will immerse visitors in the rich history of Drumlanrig Castle, sharing engaging stories about the Castle’s unique past. Taking the lead in ensuring the safety of tour groups, you will answer queries confidently and play a key role in creating unforgettable experiences for our visitors. This is a seasonal role working from April to August, with variable hours mainly to be worked over the weekends.

The person? As a natural storyteller with a keen interest in Scottish history and an understanding of art, you will demonstrate a passion for sharing knowledge and the ability to talk to people from all walks of life. Flexibility to work weekends and varied hours is required. Access to your own transport is essential since the Castle is not accessible by public transport.
