In this pivotal role, managing one direct report, you will be responsible for strategically managing and optimizing compensation and benefits programs across diverse and complex markets.
You will navigate intricate regional regulations, ensuring compliance and enhancing our employee value proposition. This role demands a proactive, detail-oriented professional with a strong understanding of compensation and benefits practices in Europe and APAC, and the ability to drive and execute strategic initiatives in a fast-paced environment.

How you’ll make an impact
- Implement and maintain the global compensation framework across 11 countries, ensuring alignment with local practices and compliance with labor laws. This will include, but is not limited to: Italy, Ireland, Japan, the UK, Belgium, Netherlands, France, Germany, Australia and New Zealand.
- Manage the design, communication, and administration of base pay, bonuses, and commission plans.
- Ensure internal equity and market competitiveness of compensation practices across all regions.
- Support eligibility assessments and payout calculations for various leave types (e.g., maternity, paternity, parental, and long-term sickness).
- Ensure compliance with local labor laws and government requirements related to compensation, including minimum wage increases, mandatory bonus schemes, and profit sharing.
- Lead the implementation and ongoing compliance with the EU Pay Transparency Directive.
- Oversee country-specific pay equity and gender pay reporting requirements (e.g., in Australia and Ireland).
- Coordinate wage reconciliations, tax adjustments, and regulatory filings (including year-end and LTIP-related obligations).
- Lead or support compensation-related negotiations with labor unions and work councils, particularly where collective bargaining is required.
- Serve as a trusted partner to HR Business Partners, Legal, and Finance teams in addressing complex compensation matters.
- Manage global bonus and commission plans, including design input, compliance, and administration.
- Oversee bonus eligibility tracking and adjustments for employees on leave or with special employment statuses.
- Coordinate annual tax return lodgment and compliance for Long-Term Incentive Plans (LTIPs), including vested shares and conversions.
- Oversee compliance with local labor laws, regulations, and taxation related to benefits programs in multiple European and APAC countries.
- Ensure that benefits plan meet all statutory and regulatory requirements, including healthcare, pensions, leave/time off, and other statutory benefits.
- Manage audits, filings, and reporting to ensure that the company remains compliant with regional laws.
- System knowledge with automating benefit elections to support partner updates as well as employee awareness, specific to Europe.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of vendors, contract management, handling service issues and escalating concerns as necessary.
- Use data and analytics to track participation rates, program costs, and employee satisfaction, identifying opportunities for program enhancements.
- Partner with our consults to prepare regular benefits reports including cost analysis, usage trends, and the impact of benefits programs
- Monitor and report on the overall effectiveness of benefits offerings, identifying gaps or areas for improvement. Support creation of dashboard metrics to report up to leadership.
- Provide guidance and support of new benefits programs, enhancements, and changes. Partnering with stakeholders for managing communication and training for employees.
- Guide the organization through changes in benefits, ensuring smooth transitions and adoption of new initiatives.
- Be a team player collaborating with HR, Finance, Procurement and Legal to ensure alignment between benefits, compensation, and broader company goals.
- Manage the integration or divestiture of benefits programs during acquisitions or divestituresin Europe and APAC, ensuring compliance, alignment, and a smooth transition for employees.
- Collaborate with HR, Finance, and Legal teams to ensure alignment between benefits, compensation, and broader company goals.
- Partner with HR Business Partners to address specific employee needs related to benefits and ensure programs are tailored to local requirements.
Experience you’ll bring
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Extensive experience in compensation and benefits management, with significant experience in Europe and APAC.
- Proven expertise in navigating complex regional labor laws and regulations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret and apply data.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Proficiency in Workday and compensation management software.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree or relevant certifications (e.g., CCP, GRP).
- Experience working in a fast-paced, multinational corporation.
- Fluency in multiple languages – would be of an advantage.
- Experience with equity and long-term incentive plans.
- Experience with Tax reconciliations in Japan, and Australian payroll, of an advantage but not essential
