Job Description:

· Join a global market leader

· Join a company serving a vast array of sectors

About the Company: Quality Engineer (Toolroom)

A well-established manufacturer with a reputation for delivering high-quality, engineered plastic components is seeking a talented Quality Engineer to join its tooling division. The company serves a wide range of industries and prides itself on innovation, technical precision, and continuous improvement across its operations.

With cutting-edge facilities and a collaborative culture, this is a great opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and has a keen eye for detail in high-precision tooling and quality processes.

Role Overview:

This role sits within the heart of the tooling and maintenance operation, ensuring that all newly produced injection mould tooling components meet the highest quality standards before being released to production. You will lead investigations, document inspections, and play a key role in tooling improvement projects and lifecycle assessments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough inspections on newly manufactured tooling components and trial outputs.
  • Maintain accurate, detailed quality records and inspection documentation.
  • Lead root cause investigations into product performance issues and customer concerns.
  • Act as the tooling department's quality point of contact for internal audits and 8D investigations.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on tooling design, wear, and repeat issues.
  • Manage tooling insert data and documentation, including change tracking and usage analysis.
  • Support decisions around tool replacement, maintenance cycles, and performance trends.

Key requirements:

  • Proven experience in a quality-focused role within an engineering or manufacturing environment (preferably tooling/injection moulding).
  • Working knowledge of IATF/ISO 9001 and IATF/ISO 14001 standards from regulated sectors.
  • Proficient in using advanced inspection tools such as CMM Inspection Machines, 3D scanners, and vision systems.
  • Skilled in data analysis techniques - familiarity with Six Sigma or equivalent methodologies desirable.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills; comfortable liaising across departments and presenting findings.
  • Highly computer literate with experience in tracking quality metrics, trend analysis, and digital documentation.

This is a pivotal role for someone who enjoys taking ownership of quality processes and thrives in a role with real influence over product and tooling performance.

Package:

· Full training

· Company laptop

· Company pension

· Healthcare benefits

· Biannual company bonus
