Job summary

University of Bristol seeks an enthusiastic and experienced Toolroom/Workshop Machinist based in the Queens Mechanical Workshop. You will handle toolroom machining across CNC milling, turning, EDM, and manual machines, while providing specialist support to academics and students in the Faculty of Science and Engineering.

You will also contribute to teaching in a classroom setting, applying apprenticeship-style skills to operate pillar drills and related equipment, supporting research projects

Qualifications

• City & Guilds or equivalent tool room machinist qualification.
• Experience with CNC milling, turning, EDM and manual lathes.
• Ability to teach in a classroom environment.

Responsibilities

• Toolroom machining using CNC milling/turning, EDM and manual machines.
• Provide teaching support in a classroom setting.
• Support research projects and contribute design knowledge around Queens building.
