Job summary

Kinetic Plc in Wallsend is seeking an organised Toolroom Operator to manage tooling, ensure traceability, and support production. The role sits under the Technical department with focus on data accuracy and tool availability to minimise delays.

Initially a long-term temporary position with a view to permanent for the right candidate, the role requires attention to detail and experience with stock control and digital tracking systems.

Qualifications

• Experience in tooling control, stores management or technical inventory in engineering/manufacturing.
• Strong organisational skills with experience handling physical stock and digital tracking.
• Keen eye for detail and ability to visually inspect mechanical parts for wear/defects.
• Familiarity with continuous improvement methodologies (5S, Visual Management) preferred.
• Willingness to support operations across two Newcastle sites.

Responsibilities

• Receive, log, and issue tooling; maintain accurate inventory in digital and physical systems.
• Assist with implementing a digital tooling control system using barcoding, databases or tracking software.
• Inspect roller units, preform heads and postformers to confirm specifications.
• Track tool usage and wear; provide data to Technical Engineers for analysis and improvement.
• Coordinate with procurement for repairs, deliveries and consumables stock to minimise delays.
