Job summary

Archer is actively recruiting for two Toolpushers to join the offshore team on a full-time, permanent basis. We will support our client with a newbuild compact workover rig for P&A activities on their asset, involving manufacture, testing, mobilisation and operations, including offshore reintegration of platform systems.

The Toolpusher will lead the offshore team, ensuring safe, efficient and professional operations.

Qualifications

  • Must have relevant experience in a similar Toolpusher offshore role in the North Sea.
  • BOSIET or FOET with CA-EBS.
  • MIST.
  • OPITO Working at Height level 2.
  • OEUK Medical.
  • IWCF Well Control Supervisor Level 4.
  • Right to work in the UK essential.

Responsibilities

  • Overall responsibility for all drilling rig and modules, and associated equipment.
  • Supervision and performance of offshore personnel and sub-contractors.
  • Liaise with Senior Toolpusher on key issues.
  • Supervise drilling operations, maintenance and related activities to ensure efficiency and compliance with procedures.
  • Ensure health and safety at work and accident prevention.
  • Direct rig-up, rig-down, dismantling and moving of equipment and supervise crews.
  • Maintain good housekeeping and safe working conditions on the rig.
  • Assist Senior Toolpusher with payroll data, equipment control, inventory, and reports.
  • Complete drilling and safety reports in a timely manner.
  • Manage Permits-to-Work per the system and ensure safety precautions.
  • Record and report problems and incidents.
  • Provide guidance to Drillers on operational matters.
  • Supervise personnel in their area and manage performance.

Job description

Archer is currently actively recruiting for two back to back Toolpushersto join the team on a full-time, permanent basis.


We will be supporting our client by deploying a new buildcompactworkover rig to support the P&A activities on their asset. Thisis an exciting opportunity to be involved in the newbuild compact workover rig throughout the manufacture, testing, mobilisation and operations. This will include supporting offshore operations to reinstate existing platform systems and prepare the platform to integrate the compactworkover rig onto the platform.


The Toolpusher will play a vital leadership role in the offshore team, ensuring operations are under their supervision are undertaken safely, efficiently and professionally.


The successful candidates will work in the North Sea out of Dyce on a 3/3 rotation.


Duties/Responsibilities:


  • Overall responsibility for all drilling rig and modules, and associated equipment.

  • Supervision and performance of Company offshore personnel and sub-contractors.

  • Liaise closely with their Senior Toolpusher on all key issues in a timely and appropriate manner.

  • Supervise drilling operations, maintenance and other related activities on the installation ensuring that such operations are carried out efficiently and in compliance with Company operating procedures and Company Safety Policy.

  • Ensure that health and safety at work and accident prevention are continuously brought to the attention of all employees by means of job supervision, instruction and training.

  • Direct rig-up, rig-down, dismantling and/or moving of rig and auxiliary equipment, and supervise Driller and drilling crews in setting up and operating equipment in a safe and efficient manner.

  • Ensure good housekeeping and safe working conditions are maintained on the rig.

  • Assist Senior Toolpusher by maintaining records for payroll data, control equipment and materials inventory for cost control, report of rig equipment transfers, current bit record data showing bits received, run and receipt of material, whilst on tour.

  • Assist Senior Toolpusher by completing all required drilling and safety (or platform) reports in a timely manner, such as Drilling Report, Operational Plan, Engine Report, Machinery Report, Pump Report and other records whilst on tour.

  • Evaluate all work to be carried out to the requirements of the Permit-to-Work system, initiate and write Permits-to-Work as necessary and ensure that all safety precautions are taken and only work is carried out stated in the Permit-to-Work.

  • Ensure adequate recording and reporting of all problem events including accidents/incidents.

  • Provide advice and guidance to Drillers on all operational matters as may be required.

  • Responsible for the supervision of personnel engaged in activities in their area of responsibility or for which they have been allocated responsibility by their supervisor.

  • Responsible for the performance management of the personnel under their authority to ensure standards of behaviour and performance expected by the Company.

  • Monitor, supervise and coach any Service company or Vendor company representatives that may be involved in the operations on the rig.

  • Stand-in for alternative work discipline as required.

  • Attend onshore or offshore meetings and additional training, as required.
