Job description

Position: Tool Maker

Type of position: permanent

Location: Leamington Spa

Hours: 39 hours per week (rotating shifts)

Week 1 - Monday Thursday 6.00am 2.00pm, Friday 6.00 1.00pm

Week 2 Monday - Thursday 10.00am 6.00pm, Friday 10.00am 5.00pm

Salary: GBP36,182 per year + GBP3265 Shift allowance + Attendance bonus

We are now seeking to recruit a Toolmaker for a prestigious manufacturing company based in Leamington Spa, the appropriate toolmaker will be responsible for manufacturing, modifying, and maintaining production tooling, jigs, fixtures, gauges, and custom equipment.

Responsibilities:

  • Manufacture, maintain and modify production tooling, jigs and fixtures
  • Interpret engineering drawings to determine the best manufacturing methods
  • Operate a variety of manual machinery, including lathes, grinders and mills
  • Assemble and disassemble press tools, check tolerances and performance
  • Diagnose faults and carry out tooling repairs
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organised Toolroom

Requirements:

  • Time-served apprenticeship with NVQ or equivalent in Toolmaking
  • Experience in a Toolmaker role within manufacturing or engineering environment
  • Skilled in operating Toolroom machinery (lathes, mills, grinders)
  • Experience with press tool operation, fault diagnosis and tool repair, preferred
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
  • Experience in producing jigs & fixtures
  • Mig welding is desirable
