Job summary

Butler Rose is recruiting a Toolmaker in Seaton, East Devon (relocation support available). The role covers manufacture, maintenance and development of precision tooling for worldwide customers.

You will work in a skilled in-house toolroom, taking ownership from concept through to finished product. Key duties include interpreting drawings, operating CNC lathes/milling/EDM, preventive maintenance, and collaborating with engineering and production to deliver tooling solutions.

Qualifications

• Strong machining and tool making skills in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specs.
• Excellent attention to detail and pride in quality work.
• Strong problem solving and fault-finding abilities.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Manufacture, assemble and fit precision press and mould tools.
• Operate CNC lathes, CNC milling, EDM and machining centres.
• Carry out preventative maintenance and repairs on tooling.
• Support new product development via tooling improvements.
• Collaborate with engineering and production to develop tooling solutions.
• Maintain accurate records of tooling designs and modifications.
• Ensure work meets quality and safety standards.
• Participate in continuous improvement and lean initiatives.
