Job summary

Eaton in Worksop is seeking a Tool Room Technician to perform fault finding, tool repair and modifications in line with the company's Quality Policy. You will translate CAD drawings for tooling tasks and operate equipment as authorised. Strong focus on safety, 5S and continuous improvement is expected.

The role emphasizes teamwork across departments, adherence to safety rules, and participation in development training with the Tool Room Team Leader.

Qualifications

• B.TEC ONC or equivalent qualification required.
• Recognised apprenticeship programme completed.
• Adherence to abrasive wheels regulations and H&S at work.
• Demonstrated ability to work in teams and support initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Carry out fault finding, tool repair, corrections and modification to standards.
• Translate CAD drawings to complete tooling tasks.
• Operate equipment and machinery as authorised.
• Maintain general housekeeping of the department.
• Observe lean manufacturing standards (5S, docs, standardised methods).
• Liaise with other departments to ensure team collaboration.
• Adhere to safety policies and Eaton life saving rules.
• Undertake training for development with the Tool Room Team Leader.
• Participate in Continuous Improvement initiatives.

Job description

• Carry out all fault finding, tool repair, corrections and modification. Ensuring tasks and output is to acceptable standards in accordance with Company Quality Policy and Procedures.
• Translation of CAD drawings in order to complete required tooling tasks.
• Operate equipment and machinery for which they are authorised.
• General housekeeping of the department
• Ensure that lean manufacturing standards (5S+,documentation standards, standardised working methods, etc.) are observed and sustained.
• Liaise with other departments/functions ensuring good Team collaboration
• Observe and adopt safe working practices in accordance with Company health and safety policy, whist adhering to the Eaton Life Saving Rules.
• Undertake training necessary for development as agreed with the Tool Room Team Leader
• Participate in Continuous Improvement initiatives
