Job description

Are you a skilled Tool Maker seeking a new opportunity? Do you have experience in manufacturing, maintaining, or repairing tools for moulding or press tools? Are you looking to join an expanding business that invests in and develops its manufacturing facilities?

Kingscroft is recruiting for a Toolmaker to join a specialist manufacturing company. The ideal candidate will have experience in the manufacture, maintenance, or repair of tooling, jigs, and fixtures, preferably within technical moulding. Proficiency with engineering tools such as lathes, grinders, and mills is essential.

In this role, based in a well-equipped tool room and engineering department, your responsibilities will include:

  1. Repairing and servicing moulds, jigs, fixtures, and extruded parts to maintain production standards.
  2. Manufacturing spare parts according to drawings or by taking measurements and creating replacements to the same standard.
  3. Achieving high-quality polishing of bought-in parts and moulds to meet the company's quality standards.
  4. Inspecting externally manufactured components against drawings and ensuring compatibility with existing moulds.
  5. Maintaining or advising on the condition of subcontracted moulds.
  6. Ensuring all equipment is maintained safely and reliably.
  7. Performing and recording periodic PPM checks as assigned and within your competence.
  8. Assisting in training other Production Technicians and participating in relevant training courses.
  9. Adhering to safe working practices and departmental rules.
  10. Reporting any issues or potential breakdowns to management.
  11. Minimising material wastage.
  12. Carrying out mould PPMs and core/insert changes as needed.
  13. Maintaining a clean and tidy workspace.
  14. Complying with company policies, including ISO 9000 standards and health and safety regulations.
  15. Participating in 5S and lean manufacturing initiatives.
  16. Supporting teamwork and performing any other reasonable tasks to fulfill the role's purpose.
