Job summary

Omega Plc in Stourport-on-Severn is seeking a skilled Toolmaker for a permanent role. You will manufacture, repair and assemble complete tooling kits to drawings and specifications, operating toolroom equipment including lathes, mills, grinders, and setting measuring gear.

You will work as part of a proactive team, source parts via the procurement system, maintain spares stock and support other disciplines as needed.

Qualifications

• Time served toolmaker or equivalent qualifications
• Advanced troubleshooting skills
• Ability to work to tight tolerances

Responsibilities

Job description

Position: Toolmaker Type of role: permanent Hours of work: Monday to Thursday 8:00 am to 4:30 pm and on Fridays 8:00 am to 1:00 pm Salary: £40000 to £43000 per annum Location: Stourport-on-Severn

We are now seeking to recruit a toolmaker for a precision manufacturing business based in Stourport-on-Severn. The appropriate toolmaker would be responsible for manufacturing, repairing and assembling of complete fastener tooling kits to technical drawings and specifications. The responsibility of toolmaker: Operating of all toolroom manufacturing equipment: conventual lathes/ milling, surface and universal grinders. Setting and operating of all Toolroom measuring equipment. To source and obtain parts and materials as required following the procedures of the procurement system To maintain the relevant stock levels of spares and consumables. To ensure the correct tools and equipment are available to carry out the tasks and repairs Be a proactive and flexible team member, training in other disciplines where required.

Requirements of a toolmaker

Time served toolmaker or equivalent qualifications i.e., City and Guilds, NVQ level 3, HNC etc. Proven interpersonal and leadership abilities to proactively work with and professional people and to interact effectively with individuals and groups both internal and external to the company and at all organizational levels. Have advanced troubleshooting skills. Manual turning experience Must be able to work to tight tolerances.
