Overview

We are seeking a skilled Toolmaker to join our team. The Toolmaker will be responsible for producing different types of tooling and will be proficient in operating CNC millers, turners, grinders etc.

Responsibilities

• Manufacture and repair precision tools for production purposes
• Operate and maintain CNC millers, turners, grinders, and other toolroom machinery
• Collaborate with engineers and production personnel to ensure tooling meets specifications
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine the proper set up and operation of the machinery
• Perform preventative maintenance on machinery
• Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with tooling and equipment
• Adhere to safety and quality standards in all work activities

Qualifications

• Proven experience in toolmaking and production of precision tooling
• Relevant toolmaking qualification
• Proficiency in operating CNC millers, turners, grinders, and other toolroom machines
• Experience in TIG welding (DESIRABLE)
• Strong attention to detail and precision in work
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
• Knowledge of tool and die materials and heat treatment processes
• Strong problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude
• Commitment to workplace safety and quality standards
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities

Day-to-day

• Operating CNC millers, turners, grinders, and lathes to produce and repair tooling
• Collaborating with engineers and production personnel to meet tooling specifications
• Performing preventative maintenance on machines and equipment
• Troubleshooting and diagnosing issues with tooling and equipment
• Adhering to safety and quality standards in all work activities

The shift times are days & afters rotating weekly Monday to Friday (early finish Fridays).Starting pay is GBP22/h.
