Job description

Tool Maker Workshop - £39,000 p/a

No Night shift! The Tool Maker will be working mornings and afternoons as part of a small, friendly team responsible for the repair, maintenance, and examination of all types of injection mould and metal press tooling.

Tool Maker Job Description
  1. Carry out all fault finding, tool repair, corrections and modifications in line with the CAD drawings.
  2. Safely operate equipment and machinery, ensuring tasks and output are of acceptable standards.
  3. Participate in and ensure that lean manufacturing initiatives and standards (5S+, documentation standards, standardised working methods, etc.) are observed and sustained.
  4. Liaise with other departments and functions ensuring good team collaboration.
  5. Undertake training necessary for development as agreed with the Tool Room Team Leader.
Tool Maker Position Requirements to Apply:
  1. B.TEC, ONC or equivalent in an engineering subject.
  2. Recognised apprenticeship training programme.
  3. Experience of setting and operating CNC controlled machines.
  4. Confidence in other metal processing activities such as drilling, tapping, fettling, filing, polishing and linishing with abrasive wheels regulations.

  1. Salary: £39k per annum plus overtime at time and a half
  2. Shifts: Mon-Fri, 6am to 2pm and 2pm to 10pm (weekly rota)
