Toolmaker Jig Technician

Location: Broughton, near Chester

Annual Salary: £37,928 (PAYE) + shift allowances

Shift: Double Days: Week 1 - 06:00 to 13:10 pm, Week 2 - 13:30 pm to 20:40 pm (Mon to Fri), Nights: 20:45 pm to 06:00 am (Mon to Thurs)

We’re looking for a proactive, collaborative professional to join the team and help keep production running smoothly.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain and improve tooling: Reactively maintain tooling to ensure production stays on track. Proactively service critical path tooling and key jig features, following set schedules to support the build cycle.
  • Precision Measurement & Metrology: Work closely with the Metrology team, using Laser Trackers and CMM instruments to check and certify a variety of tooling across the Broughton Plant. Support measurements for aircraft concession data and acceptance checks. Metrology experience is essential for this role, as you\'ll be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and certification of tooling using advanced measurement equipment.
  • Teamwork: Collaborate with colleagues, sharing knowledge and following documentation to ensure the highest standards are met.
What We're Looking For
  • Completed a toolmaking, fitter machinist, or machining apprenticeship (NVQ Level 3 or above).
  • At least 3 years' post-apprenticeship experience.
  • Confident using tool room machines (lathes, millers, grinding machines, jig borers).
  • Hands-on experience with metrology equipment, including Laser Trackers and CMM instruments, is required.
  • A team player with strong communication skills and a commitment to quality.
