Job summary

Mansell Recruitment Group is seeking an experienced Toolmaker for a hands-on toolroom role in the Brighton area. You will make, repair and maintain press tools, jigs and fixtures, and respond quickly to tooling downtime on the shop floor.

The ideal candidate has proven toolmaking experience, strong background in press tools or fixtures, and proficient reading of drawings. CNC exposure is a plus but not required.

Qualifications

• Proven toolmaking experience.
• Strong press tool, jig or fixture background.
• Confident reading drawings.
• Manual machining and bench fitting skills.
• Good fault-finding ability.
• CNC would be useful, but is not essential.

Responsibilities

• Make, assemble and repair press tools, jigs and fixtures.
• Strip, inspect, fault-find and rebuild tooling.
• Carry out preventative and reactive tool maintenance.
• Produce precision parts from engineering drawings.
• Use manual mills, lathes and grinders.
• Bench fit and assemble to tight tolerances.
• Support tool trials and modifications.
• Help production quickly when tooling goes down.

Toolmaker | £50,000–£60,000 DOE + Bonus

A well-established manufacturer is looking for an experienced Toolmaker to keep production moving.

This is a proper hands-on toolroom role. You will make, repair and maintain press tools, jigs and fixtures, get stuck into breakdowns when they happen, and help reduce downtime on the shop floor.

• Make, assemble and repair press tools, jigs and fixtures

The package

• £50,000–£60,000 DOE
• Early finish Friday: Monday–Thursday 7:30am–4:30pm, Friday 7:30am–1:00pm
• Flexible hours where needed
• Performance-related Christmas bonus
