A world-class engineering business in Northamptonshire is seeking a Tooling Technician to ensure the shop floor is equipped with the right tools. The ideal candidate will manage tooling stock, liaise with suppliers, and contribute to production efficiency in the automotive and motorsport industry. Strong knowledge of machine tooling is essential for this role.

Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of machine tooling and machining.
  • Experience with tool assembly and measuring equipment.
  • Ability to carry out tool geometry inspection.
  • SAP knowledge and solid computer skills.

We're looking for a Tooling Technician to join a world-class engineering business in Northamptonshire. If you've got strong knowledge of machine tooling, this is a fantastic chance to support a busy machine shop at the heart of high-performance engineering for the automotive and motorsport industry.

Responsibilities
  • This position puts you at the centre of the action, making sure the shop floor always has the right tools, at the right time.
  • Manage tooling stock, liaise with suppliers and purchasing to reduce costs, coordinate repairs, regrinds and replacements.
  • Assemble and inspect tooling with Zoller equipment.
  • Raise purchase requisitions in SAP and work closely with engineers to solve tooling issues and drive improvements.
  • Contribute to production efficiency and quality through tooling improvements.
