Job summary

Ethero is seeking a Procurement Engineer to support tooling and related equipment launches for a global automotive component manufacturer. You will source tooling, fixtures, jigs, gauges and related equipment while managing suppliers, costs, budgets, contracts and compliance.

You will collaborate on New Product Introductions with cross-functional teams to meet launch timelines, engage stakeholders, and drive continuous improvement in procurement processes and tooling lifecycle management.

Qualifications

• Educated to a minimum of HNC level in a relevant discipline.
• Essential: Commercial experience managing complex tooling requirements, strong negotiation, supplier relationship and performance management skills.

Responsibilities

• Procurement: Source and procure tooling, fixtures, jigs, gauges, and associated equipment while managing suppliers, costs, budgets, contracts, and compliance.
• Supplier Relationship Management: Build and manage supplier relationships, monitor performance against key metrics, drive continuous improvement, and mitigate supply risks.
• New Product Introduction (NPI): Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify, source, and deliver tooling in line with new product launch and industrialisation timelines.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with internal stakeholders to understand business requirements, develop sourcing strategies, and communicate project progress, risks, and opportunities.
• Continuous Improvement: Improve procurement processes, supplier performance, tooling lifecycle management, and digitalisation while contributing to procurement strategy and sharing market intelligence.

The Role

• Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with internal stakeholders to understand business requirements, develop sourcing strategies, and communicate project progress, risks, and opportunities.

The Person

Educated to a minimum of HNC level in a relevant discipline you will have the following experience:

• Essential: Commercial experience managing complex tooling requirements, strong negotiation, commercial awareness, supplier relationship and performance management skills, cross-functional experience in manufacturing, strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, and proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
• Desirable: Knowledge of manufacturing processes, product development cycles, NPI projects, strategic sourcing, category management, and Teamcenter Product Cost Management (TcPCM) for tooling and equipment costing.
