Plasman is currently seeking a new member to join our TOOLING team as a:

TOOLING ENGINEER

This position plays a crucial role in the design, development, and maintenance of tooling systems that are vital for our manufacturing processes. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the highest quality and efficiency in our tooling operations, contributing to the overall success of Plasman's production goals.

Key Responsibilities

1. Provide recommendations and input on tooling design for all facility programs.
2. Complete and oversee all facility tooling follow-up.
3. Organize, coordinate, and maintain facility Tooling PM program.
4. Provide support to program management group with estimating support (tonnages, cycles, gating, etc).
5. Oversee tooling repairs/engineering changes & ensure timely/quality repairs are completed; develop, organize, and implement efficiency improvements and scrap reduction opportunities.
6. Ensure that sufficient resources are available for tooling department including training, safety requirements, personnel, work instructions, procedures, and related tools.
7. Assist any employee as necessary to promote a successful operation emphasizing customer satisfaction.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience We're Looking For

1. Post secondary degree or diploma in Tooling, Engineering, Mold Making, or a related field; a combination of education, training, and years of working experience will be considered.
2. Preference for those with advanced skilled trade certification in mold design and tool making within an automotive, manufacturing environment.
3. Proficient knowledge of CAD software and technical drawing interpretation.
4. Strong problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail and quality assurance.
5. Effective communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with diverse teams.
6. Demonstrated initiative in identifying process improvements and implementing innovative solutions.
7. Flexibility to adapt to new challenges and technologies in a fast-paced environment.
8. A proactive attitude with a commitment to continuous learning and skill development.
