Job description

We are seeking a skilled Tooling Engineer to join our team. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining tooling solutions that support our manufacturing operations and meet performance, safety, and quality standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical engineering.

Essential Functions

1. Use engineering expertise to support manufacturing processes from raw material to end product
2. Hands-on approach to solving manufacturing engineering issues on a daily basis
3. Design of new tooling in response to customer requirements and market needs
4. Design of cold forming tooling, thread rolling tooling, and jigs/fixtures for existing products
5. Improve reliability of tooling design, ensuring that changes are appropriately documented
6. Continuous review and analysis of the efficiency and reliability of manufacturing processes, including tooling, heat treatment, coating, plating, and lubricants
7. Liaise with tooling suppliers, materials suppliers, machine maintenance, and subcontractors to continually strive for improvement in reliable, consistent production
8. Present and confidently discuss new ideas and suggestions for improvement
9. Liaise with Waco on product development
10. Ensure maintenance of up-to-date technical standards and drawing databases
11. Compliance with all company policies

Background & Experience

1. Demonstrated tooling engineering experience
2. Cold forming knowledge desirable
