Tooling Engineer

…to support our production channels and manufacturing teams by designing and implementing high-quality jigs, fixtures, and tooling solutions.

Your main responsibilities include

  • Design and develop tooling to support product industrialisation and manufacturing processes.
  • Participate in product design reviews to ensure manufacturability.
  • Create and maintain operation and stage drawings using CAD tools (PTC Creo/Windchill).
  • Manage tooling sub-contractors to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery.
  • Support automation initiatives by designing grippers and automation-ready fixtures.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to resolve tooling issues and improve tooling performance.
  • Contribute to digitalisation efforts by integrating parametric design data into stage models, tooling models and documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience in tooling design or a similar engineering role in manufacturing.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (experience with PTC Creo/Windchill an advantage).
  • In-depth understanding of engineering drawings, GD&T, and manufacturing processes.
  • Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP) beneficial
  • Proficient in both verbal and written communication, alongside teamwork skills.
  • A proactive, problem-solving mindset with a focus on continuous improvement.

The position will be based in SKF Aerospace UK, Clevedon site, on local contract.
