Job summary

Azenta UK, Ltd. is offering a Tool Technician Apprentice position in Wotton, Nr Dorking. Own transport is required due to rural location. You will learn to work with precision tools and gain hands-on experience under qualified technicians in a structured apprenticeship with SIGTA Training.

You will assist with cleaning, maintenance, servicing and repair of production tools, inspect tooling for wear, and operate standard workshop machines. Training includes mentorship and coursework.

Qualifications

• Interest in mechanical engineering, manufacturing, or toolmaking.
• Must meet eligibility criteria for an approved apprenticeship program.
• On-the-job training with formal study at a partner college or training provider.

Responsibilities

• Assist in cleaning, maintenance, servicing, and repair of production tools.
• Learn to inspect tools for wear or damage and carry out basic repairs.
• Set up and operate standard workshop machines (lathes, mills, grinders, CNC).
• Follow detailed drawings to ensure tooling meets standards.
• Maintain records of work completed and tooling condition reports.
• Document service work with electronic records, including photos.
