Job summary

Omega in the United Kingdom is seeking a Tool Room Manager to lead and manage all Tool Room activities in a fast-paced injection moulding facility. You will maximise mould availability, minimise downtime and drive improvements in tool performance.

You will develop a highly skilled team including Toolmakers, Apprentices and Technicians, ensuring compliance with safety, quality and ISO standards while supporting a demanding production schedule.

Qualifications

• Significant experience within plastic injection moulding tooling environments.
• Proven leadership experience managing a Tool Room team.
• Strong knowledge of mould construction, maintenance and repair techniques.
• Ability to diagnose tooling issues and implement effective solutions.
• Experience of preventative maintenance systems.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making capability.
• Experience within high-volume manufacturing environments.
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage Tool Room activities to maximise mould availability.
• Develop preventative maintenance schedules for production moulds.
• Coordinate tool repairs and refurbishment with suppliers and toolmakers.
• Support new tooling, trials and sign-off processes.
• Manage Tool Room team workload, training and performance reviews.
• Drive continuous improvement in tooling reliability and quality.
