Tool Maker

Plymouth | £37,479 - £42,841 per annum | Night shifts | Sunday - Thursday | 11pm - 7am |

Are you looking for a challenging and dynamic role in the field of engineering? Do you have expertise in mechanical fitting, machining, and tool making? If so, this may be the opportunity for you! Acorn by Synergie is searching for a skilled Tool Maker to join the team of a client company, based in Plymouth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilise your experience and knowledge of mechanical fitting, machining, and tool making to design and fabricate new jigs and tooling.
  • Perform repairs and maintenance on existing jigs, fixtures, and machine parts.
  • Use your expertise in CNC lathe, CNC mill, surface grinding, CAD, wire eroder, and tig/jig welding to carry out various tasks.
  • Work closely with the production team to ensure that all tooling and fixtures are in top condition and meet production standards.
  • Assist with the development of new processes and continuously improve existing ones to enhance efficiency and productivity.
  • Monitor the overall quality of work and identify any issues that may arise.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in the engineering industry.
  • Strong technical skills in mechanical fitting, machining, and tool making.
  • Proficiency in the use of CNC lathe, CNC mill, surface grinding, CAD, wire eroder, and tig/jig welding.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Good communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Detail-oriented and able to prioritise tasks.
