We want a passionate, energetic, and proven Tool Hire Account Manager who wants to make a difference in people’s lives and influence the success of the business. The hire industry is fast-paced, and each day presents new challenges, but with these challenges come success.

This role comes with many responsibilities; the main ones are:

  1. Sales – Generating new business and servicing/expanding current customers through first-class customer service to drive company sales.
  2. Management – Day-to-day management of our depot site and all depot teams.
  3. Financial – Handling cash/till, card payments, and understanding weekly/monthly sales and stock reports.
  4. Resale area – Maintaining a well-stocked, clean, and presentable hire shop.
  5. Company Reputation – Ensuring all responsibilities uphold the company's reputation, keeping customers and staff satisfied.

This role involves building relationships with customers and staff to maximize sales potential and customer service, promoting MKM as the merchant of choice in your area.

  • Build and maintain profitable customer relationships, resolve complaints, prepare customer orders, and ensure safe loading/unloading.
  • Process sales orders and delivery schedules accurately and promptly.
  • Support all company initiatives and follow plans to improve customer experience.
  • Understand local market issues and communicate with management to support sales growth.
  • Coordinate all tool hire reports, focusing on health & safety.
  • Ensure all sales orders, maintenance records, and cash payments are processed in line with procedures.
  • Assist in managing stock levels, checking incoming goods, and participating in stock takes.
  • Maintain up-to-date product knowledge and provide expert advice to customers.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Understanding of the market and product knowledge relevant to the role.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Flexible and enthusiastic attitude.
  • Experience in a sales/customer-focused role.
  • Strong customer service skills and relationship management.
  • Good organizational skills for stock management.
  • GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths and English.
  • IT literacy.
  • Knowledge of appropriate health & safety legislation.
