Compensation Data

Pay Range: $42.02/hr - $32.65/hr

Job Summary

As a Tool and Die Maker, you will be tasked with manually fabricating and modifying existing tooling and fixtures for aircraft part manufacturing, using conventional fabrication machinery such as Bridgeport Mills, lathes, surface grinders, and manual and pneumatic fabrication tools. This position is for an experienced Tool and Die Maker who requires minimal instructions and can problem solve.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Bending metal and alloy to compound and simple curvatures while maintaining tight tolerances.
  2. Welding aluminium, steel, stainless steel tubing, pipe, flat stock, etc.
  3. Using pneumatic and electric shop equipment such as die grinders, band saws, drill presses, etc.
  4. Lifting heavy objects safely.
  5. Rolling metal to compound and simple curvatures while maintaining tight tolerances.
  6. Working with sheet metal.
  7. Developing complex fixtures and dies using blueprints.
  8. Using precision instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and other measuring tools.
  9. Measuring all fabricated precision items.
  10. Interpreting complex blueprints and data.
  11. Solving problems using trigonometry and angles, considering three-dimensional dimensions.
  12. Reverse engineering complex tooling.
  13. Standing for long durations during work hours.

Job Qualifications

  • High School Diploma / GED
  • 10 years of experience in manufacturing and repairing tools and fixtures, with proven ability in shop math, trigonometry, reading/interpreting blueprints, and reverse engineering complex tools.
  • Ability to perform to shop standards with minimal supervision.
  • Experience in fabrication, bending, and welding of various materials and alloys.
  • Compliance with ITAR/EAR regulations and/or program requirements.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in Aerospace Manufacturing Environment
  • Strong communication skills, fluent in English, able to read and write effectively.
  • Own tools for use on the job.
  • Knowledge of conventional machining.
  • AWS certified welder.
  • Experience with plaster tool fabrication.
  • Familiarity with ASI standards.
