Job summary

Nixon Hire Ltd. in Newcastle upon Tyne is seeking a Toilet Tanker Driver to deliver and service toilets, empty septic tanks and waste, while ensuring compliance with transport regulations and health & safety standards.

You will inspect equipment, complete necessary paperwork, and support customers on site. The role requires a valid Category C licence, 2 years of driving experience, and flexibility for overtime.

Qualifications

• Category C Driving Licence is essential.
• At least 2 years commercial driving experience.
• Good geographical knowledge of local and surrounding areas.
• Customer-focused experience will underpin your ability to deliver this role.
• Good physical health is required for a physically demanding role.
• Flexible approach to work and able to do overtime if required, adhering to health & safety practices.

Responsibilities

• Empty septic tanks, portable toilets and chemical toilets and dispose of waste correctly.
• Deliver toilets to customers when required and collect toilets at hire end; service and clean in between.
• Inspect toilets on collection for damage, dirtiness or missing items and record findings.
• Ensure all paperwork is completed correctly (signatures for delivery/collection, damage or missing items).
• Maintain toilet service books and file them.
• Drive company vehicles safely, within transport regulations and tachograph rules where applicable.
• Operate lifting equipment safely and follow company safety directives and method statements.
• Record defects from daily vehicle and equipment checks and report to Foreman/Toilet Manager.
• Support Veterans through the Armed Forces Covenant initiative.

Job description

Reporting to the Toilet Manager / Toilet Foreman, as a Toilet Tanker Driver you are responsible for the delivery of products, and removal of waste from customer sites.

About You!

• Category CDriving Licence is essential.
• You will be a competent driver with at least 2 years commercial driving experience.
• A good geographicalknowledge of the local and surrounding areas.

• Good physical health is required as this can be a physically demanding role at times.
• Flexible in your approach to work, able to work reasonable overtime if required, and adhere to all health & safety practice.

About the Role!

Emptying septic tanks, portable mains connected toilets and chemical toilets, disposing of such waste in the correct manner.

When required delivering toilets to customers, collecting toilets at the end of the hire and in the interim carrying out regular servicing and cleaning of those toilets.

Inspecting all toilets on collection to ensure they are in good order, recording all visible damage, excessive dirtiness, missing items etc.

Ensuring all necessary company paperwork is completed in the correct manner to avoid disputes at a later date i.e. signatures obtained for time of delivery / collection, damage sustained or missing plant. Ensuring toilet service books are completed and filed.

Driving company vehicles in a safe, courteous and responsible manner, including operating within the necessary transport regulations with regard to driving hours and operating tachograph (where necessary) according to Ministry of Transport requirements.

Operating all lifting equipment in a safe manner and in accordance with all Company Safety Directives and method statements. Loading and unloading toilets in accordance with safe practice, the Company’s Safety Directives and Method Statements. Ensuring axle weights are not exceeded.

Carrying out daily checks of vehicle and any lifting / holding equipment (including straps and chains), recording any defects and reporting them to the Foreman / ToiletManager.
