Job summary

Nixon Hire Ltd. is seeking a Maintenance Person to help keep our fleet and accommodation units in top condition. You will perform refurbishment, basic plumbing/electrical tasks and routine servicing to ensure equipment is ready for hire, while delivering reliable customer service.

You will work with safe practices, with training provided where needed, and participate in overtime when required to support operations. This role supports our commitment to high-quality service.

Qualifications

• Experience in maintaining and refurbishing site accommodation units or fleet.
• Ability to work safely with basic plumbing and electrical tasks as needed.
• Willingness to work overtime when required and adapt to changing priorities.
• Strong health and safety awareness and practical problem-solving.

Responsibilities

• Carry out general maintenance and refurbishment of site accommodation units, welfare units and vans.
• Inform supervisor about stock levels of materials and repairs.
• Repair and maintain units to a high standard, including fittings and minor plumbing/electrical tasks.
• Ensure tools and equipment are clean, tested before use and stored securely.
• Assist with painting and cleaning of accommodation units as needed.

Job description

As a Maintenance Personyou are responsible forsupportingthe efficient operation of the business bymaintaining our fleet or accommodation units, welfare facilitiesand other products. Your role is crucial in ensuring that equipment is ready for hire in a timely manner, contributing to excellent customer service and the overall success of Nixon Hire.

About You!

• History in working within the sameindustry is desirable.
• Fork truck license but not essential as training is provided.
• MPBA testing qualification but not essential as after probation period full training can be arranged.
• Good physical health is required as this can be a physically demanding role at times.
• Flexible in your approach to work, able to work reasonable overtime if required, and adhere to all health & safety practice.

About the Role!

• Carrying out general maintenance and refurbishment of site accommodation units, welfare units/vans, economically and efficiently, inform your supervisor of any issues/repair work relating to damage so that it can be recorded and charged out appropriately.
• To Inform your supervisor regards stock levels of timber/lino/boarding etc so they can be maintained.
• To maintain and repair all accommodation and welfare units to a high standard, fitting sink units, internal partition kits, replacing wall boards, minor plumbing and electrical work.
• Salvage where possible any sink units and plumbing materials/partition kits that are taken out of units after their hire.
• Carrying out painting on accommodation units (training will be given)
• Ensuring tools and equipment are adequately maintained and cleaned, tested before use, and securely stored after use.
• Cleaning of accommodation units/vans.
