A regional healthcare provider is seeking a Band 7 Tissue Viability Specialist Nurse. This role requires expertise in wound care and leadership within the Community Tissue Viability Team. The successful candidate will manage caseloads, develop educational programs, and ensure high-quality patient care across various locations. Dueto retirement of our current post holder we have a rare and excitingopportunity to advertise a Band 7 Tissue Viability Lead Nurse role predominatlyworking within the Community Tissue Viability Team.
The successful candidate willprovide highly developed wound care advice and assessment, leadership, developingeducational programmes, developing practice, and undertaking audit andresearch, primarily supporting Patient Safety and Pressure Ulcer prevention.
An understanding of the pressure ulcerprevention agenda and National Wound Care Strategy together with a passion forwound care and experience in developing and delivering educational packageswould be advantageous. Experience as aTissue Viability Nurse and Team Leader and recognised qualification inwound care would be beneficial along with leadership skill and knowledge
Thepost holder will be required to cover the service across CDDFT region thereforeindependent travel is essential.
Mainduties of the job
*Managing a clinical caseload of patients
*Prioritising patientreferrals via a triage pathway
*Developing new educationalpackages
*Participating ineducational and audit activities
*Assisting the TV Matron inachieving the service objectives
*Develop, implement andevaluate a specialist service, ensuring high standards of care and safe,effective clinical practice
*Provide expert advice,education and support to staff, patients, their families and carers
*Lead on clinical auditactivities
*Contribute to / lead thedevelopment of policies, procedures, protocols and guidelines
*Undertake servicedevelopments
*Provide a range ofeducational and training packages for health care staff and patients.
*Support, develop andmanage junior staff
*Manage the service on aday-to-day basis as required
*Managethe service/team in the absence of TVN Acute Lead

We provide hospital services from two acute sites - Darlington Memorial Hospital and University Hospital of North Durham. We have a centre for planned care in Bishop Auckland and provide care from community hospitals in Chester-le-Street, Shotley Bridge, Barnard Castle, Sedgefield and Weardale as well as over 80 other community based settings and providing care in patients' homes.

The post holder will work with and support the TissueViability Clinical Matron across the Trust to ensure that all patients,relatives and staff have access to specialist Tissue Viability care andsupport.
The post holder will promote the delivery ofhigh quality, clinically effective care, prioritising and utilising researchand collaborating with colleagues in every day practice. The post holder willbe responsible for line management and leadership across the Tissue Viabilityservice devloping practice and education.The post holder will be required totravel between sites and across regions covered by CDDFT. The post holder willparticipate in the design, implementation, evaluation & change managementof innovative projects.
