An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced nurse to join our Tissue Viability team at Worthing & St Richards Hospital. However, there may be a need for the post holder to be flexible at times to provide service delivery and advanced knowledge on all matters relating to tissue viability, across multiple hospital sites across the county of Sussex.
The Tissue viability nurse specialist is an integral part of the Harm Free Care Team providing specialist, expert advice, treatment and education to support our clinical teams to deliver safe and compassionate care, reduce harm and improve patient experience.
There will be support and supervision to ensure the post holder is competent and confident to deliver the needs of the service across the differing sites.
The post holder will have expert knowledge of all aspect of tissue viability. They will be responsible for ensuring that the care given to patients both for prevention of pressure ulcers and the treatment of wounds meets the individual needs of patients in addition to meeting national standards, research-based practice and locally agreed standards.
The specialist role will have operational responsibility for complex inpatient caseload and line management of junior team members.
The post holder will work with the wider Trust TVNs and multidisciplinary teams to promote effective and consistent prevention measures and wound management.
The specialist role will develop and oversee education packages to equip staff with the knowledge and skills to achieve best practice. They will also provide expert advice to the clinical teams and identify and issues and concerns relating to tissue viability and take a lead in supporting implementation of appropriate actions to address these.
