Job summary

A well-established timber yard in East Harling is seeking a Yard Operative to assist with daily operations. Candidates will operate equipment, pick and prepare orders, and maintain a safe environment. Previous experience is not essential as full training will be provided. The position offers a pay of £12.75 per hour for a full-time commitment, with opportunities for overtime and skill development in a supportive team environment.

About the Role

Gap Personnel is recruiting on behalf of a well-established timber yard in East Harling. We are looking for a hardworking and reliable Yard Operative to join the team. Previous experience in a timber yard or operating CNC saws would be an advantage, but full training will be provided. A strong work ethic and a positive attitude are the most important qualities.

Key Responsibilities

• Assisting with daily timber yard operations
• Operating saws and other equipment (training provided)
• Picking and preparing timber orders accurately
• Loading and unloading deliveries safely
• Keeping the yard organised, tidy, and compliant with health & safety standards
• Working as part of a team to meet customer and business needs

Requirements

• Ideally CNC saw or timber yard experience (not essential – training provided)
• Physically fit and able to work in an outdoor/yard environment
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work full-time hours
• Strong team player with good communication skills
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn

What We Offer
