Osborne Appointments in St Neots seeks a practical Gate Maker & Trade Counter Sales Assistant to join our workshop and shop floor. You will manufacture timber gates, measure and assemble components, operate workshop machinery, and ensure quality standards while maintaining a tidy, safe workspace.

You will also assist trade and retail customers, offer advice on fencing products and gates, process orders and quotations, and build strong customer relationships.

Qualifications

• Experience in carpentry, joinery, gate manufacturing or timber production desirable.
• Confident using woodworking machinery and hand tools.
• Practical skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to work accurately from measurements.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• Confident dealing with customers face-to-face and over the telephone.
• Basic computer skills for processing orders and quotations.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Reliable, punctual and hardworking with a positive attitude.
• Good understanding of workplace health and safety.
• Experience in fencing or timber industry advantageous.

• Provide advice on fencing products, timber gates, posts, panels, fixings and accessories.
• Process customer orders, quotations and payments.
• Build strong relationships with existing and new customers.
