Overview

Role: Timber Category Manager

Location: South Wales Area

Sector: Timber / Building Materials / Construction Supplies / Builders Merchants

Package: £35,000 - £45,000 + Bonus and Car

Responsibilities

• Maintain the profitability of the timber side of the business through good buying practices and by building strong relationships with suppliers.
• Keep up to date with what is selling well and what isn\'t by monitoring trends in the market.
• Lead the buying strategy within the timber side of the business and report to the Head of Procurement.
• Utilise procurement expertise in a busy builders/ timber merchant environment to support a network of branches.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Familiarity with timber products and sheet materials.
• A buying background within a timber merchant or builders merchant is required.
• Experience as a procurement professional in the construction supply sector with proven buying success.
• Strong communication skills, high attention to detail, and superb people skills.
• Some knowledge of timber products is essential to avoid disappointment.
