Job summary

Ernest Gordon Recruitment is seeking a TIG Welder/Fabricator in Kirkby to develop pipefitting skills through specialist training. The role focuses on welding and fabrication for biomass and renewable energy projects, with training towards coded welding qualifications.

You will work from drawings, progressing toward qualified pipe fitting while contributing to diverse biomass installations. Typical hours are 8am–5pm, Monday to Friday, with TOIL and a Christmas shutdown.

Qualifications

Are you a TIG Welder Fabricator looking to develop your skills through specialist training to become a fully qualified Pipe Fitter, while splitting your time between welding and pipefitting on exciting biomass projects worth up to 1 million, with the added benefit of up to two weeks off through TOIL?

This is an opportunity to join a specialist renewable energy company focused on the design, installation and maintenance of bioenergy heating solutions. The business is expanding into new areas of the energy sector and is continuing to grow its project portfolio, offering the opportunity to develop your technical skills within a fast-growing and forward-thinking industry.

In this role, you will carry out TIG welding and fabrication on a range of bespoke biomass and renewable energy projects, working from engineering drawings to produce high-quality pipework, components and fabrications. You will also receive specialist training to develop your pipe fitting skills, with duties including welding, fabrication, pipe fitting, installation and finishing work across varied projects, including biomass boiler systems, plant rooms and large-scale renewable energy installations. The role is based on a Monday to Friday working pattern, from 8am to 5pm.

This role would suit a TIG Welder Fabricator looking to develop their pipe fitting skills through specialist training, while working towards coded welding qualifications and gaining hands‑on experience across varied biomass and renewable energy projects within a growing industry.
