Job summary

McGeoch Technology Ltd. is recruiting a Fabrication / Welder for its Birmingham production facility to support growth in a manufacturing environment.

The successful candidate will weld and fabricate mild steel, aluminium and stainless steel (1–10 mm) to tight tolerances, read drawings and welding procedures, and work with sound trade methods. Flexibility for overtime and a hands-on approach are required to meet production goals.

Qualifications

• Accreditations BS EN ISO 15614-1 & 15614-2, approved to weld Butt, Fillet and plug.
• Experience and ability to weld using TIG process.
• Ability to read and interpret detailed engineering drawings, weld procedures and work instructions.
• Customer and results-focused, with integrity and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and weld mild steel, aluminium and stainless steel (1mm–10mm).
• Fabricate components to high finish and tolerances per information supplied.
• Weld components and framework using TIG welding process.
• Read drawings, fit parts and ensure conformance to specifications.
• Maintain tools and equipment, keep work area tidy and safe.
