Job summary

Permanent Role.

Location

Chesterfield

Hours

07:30 to 16:30 Mon – Thurs (30‑minute lunch break) and 07:00 to 12:30 Fri.

Hourly Rate

£15.00ph (negotiable depending on experience).

Overtime & Contract Work

Extensive overtime available. Overtime is usually taken for one hour per day. Contract work usually occurs Friday afternoon and on weekends. Overtime pays 1.5 × hourly rate; contract work is at an agreed price.

About the Company

Our client, a leading commercial vehicle manufacturer, recruits experienced fabricators for its in‑house fabrication centre. The company is approved by the British Assessment Bureau for ISO9001 Quality Management and has DVSA Whole Type Approval since 2018.

Role

• Welding / fabrication of parts using drawings.
• Steel and aluminium fabrication, welding and shaping.
• Fabricating assemblies and fitting components.
• Perform MIG and/or TIG welding to a high standard.

Successful Candidate

• Competent in fabrication and experienced with aluminium and stainless steel.
• Ability to weld steel and aluminium in various gauges; able to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Capable of following drawings and fitting instructions.
• Prior knowledge of machinery such as guillotines, brake presses, punching and shearing machines advantageous but not essential.
• Experience in the automotive industry.
