Job description

On behalf of our client who is situated in the heart of Worcestershire, providing Engineering assistances and solutions to many exciting sectors.

Due to increased demand within the department, our client now has a requirement for a TIG Welder on a 12 week Temporary to Permanent basis.

Our work environment includes:

  1. Modern office setting.
  2. Steel fabrication and metal-working.
  3. Final assembly spaces and workshops.

Responsibilities:
  1. Perform TIG (141) welding on Aluminium and/or Stainless Steel, Armoured Fabrications.
  2. Read and interpret engineering drawings to execute welds accurately.
  3. Set-up and operate TIG welding equipment safely, to ensure optimum performance.
  4. Conduct Visual Testing of Fusion Welding Joints in accordance with BS EN ISO 17673:2016.
  5. Work with the production team to meet project targets and deadlines.
  6. Continue ongoing internal and external training to welding certification requirements BS EN ISO 9606-1/2.
  7. Ensure working environment is clean, organised and meets safety and company standards.

Qualifications:
  1. Experience in Defence, Aerospace, motorsport or similar industries is advantageous.
  2. Understanding of BS EN ISO 3834-2 and DIN 2303 Q2 welding quality requirements.
  3. Previously certified coding to ISO 9606-1/2 or equivalent standards (ASME IX, AWS D17.1).
  4. NVQ/City & Guilds or similar vocational qualification in welding & fabrication or relevant engineering subject.
  5. CSWIP 3.0 or PCN (VT) Lvl I.

Experience:
  1. Time served with previous experience of TIG (141) welding aluminium and/or Stainless/Steel alloys is essential.
  2. Knowledge of BS EN ISO 9606-1/2 welder qualifications.
  3. Experience working to certified or highly regulated standards is preferred.
  4. Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  5. Experience working to high tolerance.
  6. Good organizational skills.

PACKAGE:
  • Monday to Friday (subject to change depending on business requirements).
  • Core Hours 07:00 Monday to Thursday and 07:00 on a Friday.
  • 39 hours of work per week. You may be expected to work any additional hours depending on business requirements.
