Job summary

Cavendish Nuclear is seeking TIG/MMA Welders for long-term work at Hinkley Point C. The role requires TIG and MMA experience in heavy industrial environments, with a rotating pattern and opportunities across days and nights.

UK right-to-work and a valid CCNSG Safety Passport are required or obtainable before starting. Weld tests include 6G positions in carbon and stainless steel with TIG/MMA processes; lodge and rail travel benefits apply where eligible.

Qualifications

• Experience in TIG and MMA welding within high-integrity pipework or heavy industrial environments.
• UK citizen with valid right to work in the UK.
• CCNSG Safety Passport is required or obtainable before starting.

Responsibilities

• Carry out TIG and MMA welding on high-integrity pipework.
• Complete required weld tests to verify qualifications (6G positions, multiple materials).
• Work within a long-term, rotating pattern (2 weeks on, 1 week off cycle stated as 10 on / 4 off).

TIG / MMA Pipe Welders - Hinkley Point C

£29.34/hr basic | Overtime up to £52.82/hr | Bonus | £53.39/day Lodge

Potential Yearly Gross Earnings - £113,000 per year

10 on / 4 off

Mactech have multiple opportunities for TIG / MMA Pipe Welders for long-term work with Cavendish Nuclear, part of the MEH Alliance, at Hinkley Point C.

We would like to speak to Welders with TIG and MMA experience from nuclear, power generation, oil & gas, petrochemical, refinery, marine, shipbuilding or similar heavy industrial environments.

Pay & Benefits

• Days - £29.34/hr
• Nights - £35.94/hr
• OT1 - £41.08/hr
• OT2 - £52.82/hr
• Bonus - up to £2.94/hr
• Lodge allowance - £53.39/day (£373.73/week) if eligible

Working Pattern

The rotation runs Tuesday through to the following Thursday, with both dayshift and nightshift options available.

What We're Looking For

You should have experience in TIG and MMA welding, within high-integrity pipework or heavy industrial environments.

You will need one of the following:

• Level 2 or Level 3 Welding/Fabrication qualification
• Welding Apprenticeship
• ACE Card - Pipe or Plate Welding
• Or a minimum of 5 years' relevant industry experience

A valid CCNSG Safety Passport is required and can be obtained prior to starting.

Weld Testings

Successful candidates will be required to complete and pass the following weld tests

• Butt Weld 2? carbon steel pipe weld - 6G position (All TIG)

• Butt Weld 2? stainless steel pipe weld - 6G position (All TIG)
• Box to Plate multi pass carbon steel - PH position (TIG)
• Box to Plate multi pass stainless steel - PH position (TIG)
• Box to Plate structural steel - horizontal position (MMA)
