Job Description:

In order to develop and expand the capabilities of SAFRAN Engineering Services in the UK, we are looking for contractor support to join our growing team at Pitstone. The role is initially for 6 months, inside IR35, and based onsite.

You will be the focal point for technical Engineering investigation support to ensure on-time delivery of product and customer technical queries.

• Act as the engineering focal point for operations and product support within SEP, maintaining status and priority information for stakeholders.
• Ensure engineering investigation action plans are well structured, managed, and substantiated for quick program decisions to prevent line stops.
• Be accountable for the technical quality of work delivered by yourself and other engineers.
• Represent the engineering function at daily production escalation meetings to provide support and feedback to minimize line stops.
• Build and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders and the Engineering team for efficient communication.
• Maintain alignment with the Configuration Management team and participate in change management reviews for product modifications.
• Contribute to budget forecasting activities as needed.
• Lead projects to improve reliability and FTPR based on data analysis.
• Support SQA and SRPM in supplier investigations related to design issues.
• Support Local Bond MRB and ensure timely QN actions.
• Lead and complete PRs/CRS and permits promptly.

Requirements

• A Mechanical, Automotive, or Aeronautical Engineering degree or equivalent qualification.
• Self-sufficient and motivated.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for all levels of staff and external contacts.
• Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
• Experience with state-of-the-art 3D CAD software.
• Proficient in MS Office applications.
• Knowledge of electrical machines.
• Understanding of engineering materials and production methods.
• Ability to design considering cost, manufacturability, and assembly.
