Job description

We're Hiring: ELSA or THRIVE Practitioner – KS4 Alternative Provision

Are you passionate about making a real difference in young people’s lives? We’re looking for a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team at a specialist Secondary Alternative Provision, supporting students in Years 9–11 (KS4).

Our provision is a nurturing environment tailored for young people with a range of needs, including Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH), Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). We pride ourselves on providing support that helps our students thrive both emotionally and academically.

About the Role: We are seeking a qualified ELSA (Emotional Literacy Support Assistant) or THRIVE Practitioner to play a key role in the emotional development and wellbeing of our students. The successful candidate will work closely with staff, parents, and external professionals to create tailored intervention plans and offer one-to-one or small group support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver targeted emotional and social support sessions using ELSA or THRIVE principles
  • Build trusting relationships with students to help them overcome barriers to learning
  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff to embed emotional wellbeing into the wider curriculum
  • Monitor and evaluate progress, adapting support as needed

We’re Looking For Someone Who:

  • Has a recognised ELSA or THRIVE qualification and experience delivering these interventions
  • Understands the challenges and strengths of students with SEMH, ASD, and ADHD
  • Is resilient, empathetic, and patient, with a genuine desire to support young people
  • Can work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team
