Job summary

ReliaQuest is seeking a GreyMatter Specialist who combines threat detection, engineering, and incident response. In this unique role you will operate across multiple security domains and work directly with enterprise customers to resolve complex challenges from day one.

You will develop a diverse skill set quickly through our immersive training and the GreyMatter platform, tackling advanced investigations and customer-driven requests in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Understanding of cybersecurity and IT disciplines including networking, operating systems, authentication protocols, general enterprise network architecture and security incident response.
• Knowledge of TCP/IP protocols, network analysis, and network/security applications.
• Basic knowledge of Linux/Unix operating systems.
• Ability to blend technical and communication skills to advise the customer.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills (English).
• Adaptable, energetic, and accountable.

Responsibilities

• Be a trusted technical advisor, resolving customer challenges from start to finish.
• Provide analysis and recommendations to customers based on alert activity and investigations.
• Triage and fine-tune security alerts and DRP alerts for optimal performance.
• Integrate and configure log sources for existing customers.
• Troubleshoot data parsing and ingestion issues to ensure data accuracy.
• Independently configure log sources and handle admin tasks and ad hoc requests.
• Deploy and fine-tune detection rules using GreyMatter Detect.
• Conduct investigations using the Cyber Analysis Methodology, including Tier 3 incidents.
• Conduct advanced investigations including threat hunts and customer-requested analyses.
• Communicate effectively with customers regarding engineering and IR escalations.
• Spend 75% of the day in front of the customer.
