Job description

A mixed private school in Bath, Somerset, catering for 750 students and staff daily, offering breakfast, lunch, supper, and evening snacks. This role involves working in a vibrant hospitality environment. The position is a term-time plus contract, working 48 weeks a year, on a 5 out of 7 days schedule. Free on-site parking is available.

We are seeking a talented Chef De Partie to join our team at our prestigious Bath location.

You should have previous experience working in a fast-paced kitchen at CDP or junior sous chef level.

You will enjoy working with fresh, seasonal ingredients and bespoke, regularly changing menus, providing an opportunity to showcase your creativity and skills.

Key responsibilities:

  • Collaborate effectively within a team of chefs to provide catering services to pupils and staff.
  • Prepare food from scratch using fresh ingredients, adhering to brand standards.
  • Maintain high food standards and control wastage.
  • Follow all Food Hygiene, Health & Safety policies, and allergen control procedures.

Skills required:

  • A genuine interest in food and excellent customer service skills.
  • Strong team player with a collaborative approach.
  • Passion and innovation for great food.
  • Organized with attention to detail.
  • Understanding of food costs and wastage management.

Knowledge / competencies:

  • Good verbal English communication skills.
  • Proficient written English reading and writing skills.
  • Previous experience in customer service or food preparation environments is preferred.
