We’re looking for an enthusiastic and ambitious apprentice to join our Used Truck Sales Team. You’ll learn how we source, market and sell used commercial vehicles, gaining hands‑on experience in sales, customer relationships, digital marketing and business development.

Thompson Commercials Ltd is the UK’s largest independent Renault Trucks dealer. For over 30 years, we’ve built our reputation on quality, customer service and developing talented people. As our business continues to grow, we’re looking to develop the next generation of commercial vehicle sales professionals.

The Role

Working alongside our experienced Used Truck Team, you’ll learn the complete remarketing journey, from learning how to manage the defleet process for vehicles returning from our contract hire company, preparing and advertising vehicles through to handling enquiries, building customer relationships and supporting the final sale. You’ll gain hands‑on experience in:

• Learning about commercial vehicles and the used truck market.
• Learning to manage the vehicle returns process
• Working closely with the Thompson Commercials workshops to ensure vehicles meet returns and retail sales standards.
• Creating and maintaining online vehicle adverts.
• Photographing and presenting used stock for sale.
• Promoting vehicles through websites, social media and digital channels.
• Responding to telephone, email and online sales enquiries.
• Following up leads and identifying new sales opportunities.
• Speaking with customers and understanding their vehicle requirements.
• Using CRM systems to manage leads and sales activity.
• Preparing quotations and supporting vehicle demonstrations.
• Building relationships with new and existing customers.
• Working with our workshop and aftersales teams to prepare vehicles for sale.
• Developing the skills to eventually manage your own customers and sales opportunities.
