Job description

We are looking for a Third Party Assurance Manager who will play a key role in supporting Our Future Health to deliver on its strategic aims by ensuring supplier risks are well understood, effectively managed, and aligned to wider organisational objectives.

Our Future Health is the UK’s largest ever health research programme, bringing people together to develop new ways to detect, prevent and treat diseases. We are a charity, supported by the UK Government, in partnership with charities and industry. We work closely with the NHS and with public authorities across all nations and regions of the UK.

Our plan is to bring together 5 million volunteers from right across the UK who will be asked to contribute information to help build one of the most detailed pictures we have ever had of people’s health. Researchers will be able to use this information to make new discoveries about human health and diseases. So future generations can live in good health for longer.

What you’ll be doing

Your key responsibilities will also include but not be limited to:

  • Design, own and continuously improve the organisation’s third-party assurance framework, building on existing foundations.
  • Coordinate supplier due diligence, onboarding, and ongoing assurance activities based on risk profile, sector, and service type.
  • Manage a third-party assurance register, maintaining clear documentation of supplier reviews, risk findings, and follow-up actions.
  • Develop and issue proportionate assurance questionnaires and assessment tools, tailored to supplier and service risk.
  • Conduct remote and in-person assurance reviews as appropriate.
  • Identify and escalate supplier risks or compliance gaps and provide clear, evidence-based recommendations for internal decision-makers.
  • Help ensure alignment between third-party assurance and related processes including internal audits, incident management, and contract governance—supporting coherence without taking ownership of those areas.
  • Contribute to reporting on supplier risk and assurance activity.
  • Provide internal guidance and support to promote good assurance practices across the supplier lifecycle, from selection to renewal or exit.
  • Maintain awareness of and apply relevant standards and regulatory frameworks (e.g. ISO 27001, ISO 9001, ISO 13485, ISO 15189, ISO 17025, GDPR).
  • Support wider Assurance Team activities as needed, helping to embed a consistent, proportionate approach to assurance across the organisation.

To succeed you will be committed to supporting a positive, risk-aware culture that enables delivery, compliance, and innovation. You will also have some of the following skills and experience:

  • Experience designing, coordinating or managing supplier assurance or third-party risk processes within a complex or regulated organisation.
  • Knowledge of procurement, supplier risk, and contract compliance principles.
  • Understanding of relevant standards and frameworks, e.g. ISO 27001, ISO 9001, ISO 13485, ISO 15189, ISO 17025, and GDPR.
  • Strong analytical and documentation skills with the ability to communicate risks and recommendations clearly.
  • Comfortable building productive relationships with internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
  • Familiarity with audits, compliance reviews, or risk-based supplier assessments.
  • Methodical, pragmatic, and proportionate in approach—able to balance risk, context, and impact.
  • Collaborative and credible communicator, able to guide a wide range of stakeholders and facilitate constructive conversations around risk and assurance.
  • Self-motivated and comfortable working independently while coordinating cross-functional activity.
  • From £56,000 per annum basic salary.
  • Generous Pension Scheme – We invest in your future with employer contributions of up to 12%.
  • 30 Days Holiday + Bank Holidays – Enjoy a generous holiday allowance with the flexibility to take bank holidays when it suits you.
  • Enhanced Parental Leave – Supporting you during life’s biggest moments.
  • Cycle to Work Scheme – Save 25-39% on a new bike and accessories through salary sacrifice.
  • Home & Tech Savings – Get up to 8% off on IKEA and Currys products, spreading the cost over 12 months through salary sacrifice.
  • £1,000 Employee Referral Bonus – Know someone amazing? Get rewarded for bringing them on board!
  • Wellbeing Support – Access to Mental Health First Aiders, plus 24/7 online GP services and an Employee Assistance Programme for you and your family.
  • A Great Place to Work – We have a lovely Central London office in Holborn and offer flexible and remote working arrangements.
