Job summary

University Hospital Southampton NHS FT is seeking a Therapy Technician to join the acute wards team. You will work closely with Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists and therapy support staff to assess and treat patients and prepare them for discharge.

The role requires providing care on a 7-day basis, including weekends and bank holidays, and participating in our in-service training to develop new skills within a large therapy services department.

Qualifications

• Proven experience of working with people who have a variety of physical conditions.
• Clear understanding of the role of a Therapy technician in the acute environment.
• Knowledge of NHS working.
• Able to manage working with bodily fluids and helping with personal care.
• Flexibility to work weekends and bank holidays as part of a 7-day service.

Responsibilities

• Assess and treat patients on acute wards alongside qualified therapists and other Therapy Technicians.
• Support mobility and self-care, including personal care where needed.
• Engage in training and development opportunities, including students.
• Participate in 7-day working pattern and bank holiday rosters.

NVQ3 in health or social care
