Job summary

WWL (Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust) is seeking a Therapy Assistant to join the Acute Stroke Therapy Team at Royal Albert Edward Infirmary. You will support physiotherapy and occupational therapy, with experience in stroke or neuro care in an acute hospital setting.

This 30-hour-per-week post runs over seven days, and duties include direct patient care, assisting in assessments, and following treatment plans under supervision of qualified therapists.

Qualifications

• Experience in a therapy or healthcare rehabilitation environment or relevant area.
• Good level of general education and basic computer literacy.
• Ability to communicate effectively with patients and colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the Therapy process by carrying out routine assessments and procedures within competency levels.
• Follow treatment plans and assist in activities to meet treatment goals.
• Work under supervision of therapists to support patient care and rehabilitation.
• Prepare materials and equipment for treatment sessions.
• Attend staff meetings and ensure reliable attendance.
