A health care provider is seeking a dedicated Therapy Support Worker to join their surgical team in the United Kingdom. The successful candidate will assist with rehabilitation in inpatient wards and outpatient services, ensuring optimal postoperative recovery and mobility for patients. This role emphasizes teamwork, support for physiotherapists, and inclusivity, with a strong focus on staff well-being and development.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Therapy Support Worker to join our dynamic, friendly inpatient Surgical team. If you have a caring nature and are interested in working in acute rehabilitation and postoperative care then we want to hear from you! The successful candidate will also have opportunity to support the Physiotherapists working in the outpatient amputee service and to assist with the rehabilitation of patients on our critical care unit.
We’re a successful Trust with a strong commitment to delivering the highest standards of clinical quality, patient care and staff experience. The key to our success is simple: our people. Their experience, knowledge, passion and ideas are our greatest resource.
As a Therapy Support Worker, you will be mainly working on the inpatient Surgical wards, supporting the Physiotherapy team and working alongside the wider MDT to provide timely assessments and treatments to facilitate patients' discharge from hospital. You will play an important role in helping to prevent deconditioning, and optimising post operative recovery by issuing walking aids, maintaining patients' mobility whilst they are on the ward, as well as providing both chair based and bed exercises. There is also the opportunity to work in our outpatient Amputee rehabilitation service and to be involved in rehabilitation within Critical Care.
This role will also include shared house-keeping duties and stock ordering/management. Alongside other team members, you’ll embody our proud to CARE values to contribute to a truly inclusive workplace. We’re not shy about celebrating our people at the Trust and taking them with us on our collaborative journey, with our partners across the local area.
We provide a full range of district general services including urgent and emergency care, specialist children’s services, maternity and community midwifery. We also offer primary care through three GP practices with eight surgeries between them. Our vision is exceptional care provided by exceptional people. Our mission is to bring our people, communities and partners together - providing patient care we can all be proud of.
We are firmly rooted in the founding principles of the NHS, and we have built on this by “Leading the Chesterfield Way”, and with our Proud to CARE values. This means leading with care, openness, integrity and embedding an inclusive culture. Your happiness at work is incredibly important to us and we know that people have a life and responsibilities outside of work. We offer flexibility and a range of support to care for your physical and mental wellbeing.
