Icon UK Limited is establishing a Cancer Centre in Reading and seeks a qualified Radiation Therapist to deliver high-quality radiotherapy services across treatment, planning, and pre-treatment areas. You will work within a multidisciplinary team, ensuring safety, accuracy, and compassionate patient care in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires HCPC registration and a BSc in Radiotherapy, with experience across IGRT and IR(ME)R compliance.

Qualifications

  • HCPC-registered Radiographer with a BSc in Radiotherapy.
  • Experience with radiotherapy techniques including IGRT.
  • Understanding of IR(ME)R regulations and safety compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver safe, accurate, and high-quality radiotherapy treatments in line with protocols and QA standards.
  • Support day-to-day departmental operations including patient workflow and equipment checks.
  • Provide excellent patient care, education, and support, addressing treatment-related side effects.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement through audit, training, and protocol development.

Role Overview


This is a unique opportunity for a qualified and motivated Radiographer to play a key role in delivering high-quality, safe, and patient-centred radiotherapy services within a specialist cancer centre. You will work across treatment, planning, and pre-treatment areas, delivering advanced radiotherapy techniques while supporting continuous service improvement, audit, and training initiatives. We are looking for a HCPC-registered professional with a BSc in Radiotherapy, strong technical expertise across radiotherapy techniques (including IGRT), and a solid understanding of IR(ME)R Regulations.


The ideal candidate will bring excellent communication skills, the ability to work accurately in a fast-paced and emotionally demanding environment, and a compassionate, patient-focused approach. You will thrive as part of a multidisciplinary team, demonstrate strong organisational skills, and show a commitment to ongoing professional development, and maintaining the highest clinical and safety standards.


Key responsibilities include:



  • Deliver safe, accurate, and high-quality radiotherapy treatments, ensuring compliance with clinical protocols, IR(ME)R regulations and quality assurance standards

  • Support day-to-day departmental operations, including patient workflow, equipment checks, documentation, and collaboration with the multi-disciplinary team.

  • Provide excellent patient care, including communication, education, and support, recognising and managing treatment -related side effects

  • Contribute to continuous improvement through audit, training, protocol development, and maintaining up-to-date professional knowledge competencies.


Annual Leave: We offer 25 days + bank holidays (increasing to 27 days after 3 years' service)


Salary Sacrifice Pension: We offer an auto-enrolment pension from day 1 with a standard contribution of 5% employee, and 4% employer. You can also opt to enhance your contribution to 6%, to which the employer will also contribute 6%.

Location


Icon UK are proud to be opening a Cancer Centre in Reading. The facility is custom-built and will provide state of the art oncology services to our patients. The centre will offer the following services:


- Radiotherapy
- Chemotherapy
- Diagnostic Services


The centre is based just south of Reading, with convenient access from the M4.
