Job description

Job Opportunity: Therapy Practitioner

We have an exciting opportunity for Therapy Practitioners to join us in improving neurological patients' care and rehabilitation in their own homes. The Community Neurological Rehabilitation Teams, covering the South and West areas of West Sussex, are based in Worthing and Chichester. You will work alongside other rehabilitation technicians, either independently or as part of a team, to provide support and therapy interventions under the guidance of registered staff to individuals who have had a stroke or have a progressive neurological condition.

This role involves working with people with complex health and emotional needs, often following life-changing events impacting their families and carers. The primary focus will be assisting physiotherapists and occupational therapists, with opportunities to support other therapists in a multidisciplinary approach.

The role is interesting, challenging, and rewarding. The position is for 37.5 hours per week in the Worthing team and 30 hours per week in the Chichester team. Part-time and flexible working patterns are considered. A full UK driving license is required due to the geographic coverage of the teams.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. You will provide high-standard care alongside other therapy practitioners, working as part of a team or independently, under the guidance of registered staff, providing therapy interventions and feedback on clients' progress.
  2. You will be responsible for managing your caseload effectively, organizing your work to prioritize and utilize your time efficiently.
  3. You will work in community settings, including patients' homes, building professional rapport with patients and their families, respecting their views, autonomy, and culture, and involving them in their care.
  4. You will review and reflect on your practice, maintain and develop your competencies through CPD, clinical supervision, and annual appraisals, seeking guidance from senior colleagues as needed.
