Job summary

Tadley Court School, part of Aspris Children’s Services, is recruiting a Therapy Assistant to join our Education team in a therapy-focused, supportive environment.

All students have ASD with SLD and require patient staff using holistic, therapeutic approaches to help them become more independent in learning and communication.

Responsibilities

• Assisting trained clinicians with the preparation, planning and delivery of group and one-to-one occupational therapeutic and recreational activities
• Observing, recording and reporting to the assigned clinician as appropriate
• Creating appealing visual resources for sessions
• Managing a caseload of students
• Planning, running, and recording 1:1 and group therapy sessions across various therapies
• Assists with the assessment and transition of new learners ensuring they are familiar with the environment
• Creation of initial supporting documentation such as Individual Placement Plans and Provision Maps
• Ensures the effective updating of clinical records and related information systems
• IT skills to contribute to surveys, data collection and presentation
• Collate the agenda for and take notes from the weekly therapy meeting

Tadley Court School is a specialist school and has an Ofsted rating of Good with Outstanding features. Our school is set in a beautiful semi-rural location with four acres of well-maintained grounds. We are a day school specialising in the education and care of children and young people between the age of 4 and 19 years who all have a formal Autism diagnosis and either SLD or MLD. We have a healthy referral stream that proudly and successfully delivers values-led education. Duties

The role of the Therapy Assistant is to work within the Therapy Team across all disciplines to support our learners to achieve their outcomes in line with their ECHP. Duties will include:

• Assisting trained clinicians with the preparation, planning and delivery of group and one-to-one occupational therapeutic and recreational activities
• Observing recording and reporting to the assigned clinician as appropriate
• Creating appealing visual resources for sessions
• Managing a caseload of students
• planning, running, and recording 1:1 and group therapy sessions across various therapies
• Assists with the assessment and transition of new learners ensuring they are familiar with the environment
• Creation of initial supporting documentation such as Individual Placement Plans and Provision Maps
• Ensures the effective, timely and accurate updating of clinical records, case files and computerised information systems as directed while responding to routine enquiries and standard requests for information in accordance with policies and procedures
• IT Skills such as word and excel to contribute to surveys, the collection, analysis and presentation of data and information as directed
• To collate the agenda for and take notes from the weekly therapy meeting
