Therapy Assistant - Neurological Rehabilitation

Location: Hitchin, HertfordshireSalary: GBP12.75 per hour + 3% Market EnhancementHours: 19 hours per weekContract Type: Part-Time, Permanent

We are seeking a compassionate and motivated Therapy Assistant to join a dedicated multi-disciplinary team in a specialist neurological care setting in Hitchin. This part-time role is ideal for someone with experience or a strong interest in healthcare or therapy support who is looking to make a real difference in people's lives.

You'll support therapy professionals in delivering high-quality, holistic rehabilitation to adults with neurological conditions, including individuals with life-limiting illnesses or complex needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the therapy team to deliver person-centred rehabilitation care

  • Promote service users' independence, rights, and personal preferences

  • Work collaboratively to support cognitive, emotional, physical, and social needs

  • Assist in monitoring service user progress and report key changes to therapists

  • Support the use and fitting of therapy equipment, providing demonstrations where needed

  • Liaise with families and carers to gather information and coordinate interventions

  • Maintain accurate records using both paper and electronic systems

  • Undertake admin tasks including referral handling and data entry

About You:
  • Educated to GCSE level or with a QCF Level 2 (or equivalent) in health and social care

  • Understanding of or experience in the health and social care sector

  • Experience working in a care or therapy setting (desirable, not essential)

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Able to work both as part of a team and independently

  • Strong time management and organisational skills

  • Comfortable using policies, procedures, and care documentation systems
